Vocational Trainer - Kawana Waters State College

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Hairdresser to join our Vocational Education and Training (VET) team as a Vocational Trainer for the Certificate II in Salon Assistant (SHB20216).

This role involves delivering training and assessment to Year 10 students, providing them with foundational skills in salon assistance. The Certificate II qualification prepares students for further training in the hairdressing industry and is part of their senior secondary education.

This role is offered on a temporary part-time basis, at 0.32 FTE and 23 hours per fortnight, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver training and assessment for the Certificate II in Salon Assistant qualification
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing practical skills
  • Ensure compliance with training and assessment standards
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments
  • Collaborate with the VET team to enhance the learning experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current industry experience as a Hairdresser
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to student success and vocational education

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
  • Experience in delivering training and assessment in a school-based VET context
  • Knowledge of the SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant qualification
