About the role

This role supports the Manager Management Accounting and plays an integral role in the team in the provision of financial decision support services to a complex range of stakeholders. This role will work closely with the wider Finance and Business Services Branch, External stakeholders and with the Executive and key senior clinicians to provide expert Activity Based Funding (ABF/ & non ABF) and financial analysis and reporting to support critical decision processes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • High level knowledge and understanding of budgetary, funding, activity and costing frameworks within a public or health sector environment.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to provide advice and recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team environment while building and sustaining positive relationships with team members and clients.
  • Ability to provide a high level of financial and business advisory support including analysis of budget trends and investigation of variances. Present quality financial, staffing and activity data compared to budgets, targets, benchmarks and key performance indicators.
  • Proven experience delivering analysis and reporting and be able to demonstrate the ability to accurately interpret the information requirements of clinical and non-clinical clients and to use computerised health information, clinical costing, and financial systems and other tools to meet information needs.
  • Advanced level skills in the application of computerised information systems to enable the development of meaningful reports, and collation and analysis of information, including:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • DSS

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Whilst not mandatory, formal finance or commerce qualifications would be well regarded.
