Business Services Coordinator
Lotus Glen Correctional Centre; Custodial Operations; Statewide Operations; Mareeba
Correctional centres are responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.
The Business Services Coordinator will provide oversite of business services activities and expertise in performance, financial management and corporate governance and procedural compliance activities. You will actively participate in the oversite and reporting of key relationships and agreements/contracts of a business nature to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of business services in a correctional centre.

Within the context of the role responsibilities described above under “About the role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can competitively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (Team leader): Vision, Results and Accountability in the context of the essential requirements for this role:
The essential requirements for this role are:
- Knowledge, expertise and skill in financial management systems, legislation, policies and procedures and the capacity to interpret such policies and provide authoritative advice to centre management.
- An understanding of organisational internal controls and governance oversite in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Knowledge and skills in the analysis of data, the understanding of business systems and processes and in the provision of budget and activity reporting to meet the needs of the centre.
- An ability to rapidly acquire a sound working knowledge of electronic business systems and reporting tools.
- Risk assessment and management identification and analysis.
- High level written and oral communication skills together with interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to negotiate to achieve difficult and conflicting objectives and liaise, consult and negotiate with senior staff and other key stakeholders to resolve significant resource issues.
- An understanding of staff management and experience in contemporary human resource management practices.
- Knowledge and skills in resource management, including strong ability in the areas of managing resources, budget management, objective setting and monitoring, coaching and performance feedback.
- Understanding of the financial pressures and constraints that impact service delivery and the capacity to recommend courses of action which achieve optimal outcomes within those constraints.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this position however formal qualifications in business and/or accounting (or a related discipline) would be highly regarded.
