The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Coordinator Youth Care and Survivorship Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

 You will

 Provide timely and consistent education for patients and their families

  • Provide timely and consistent education for patients and their families
  • Facilitate continuity of care across health care professionals and teams
  • Develop nurse-led clinics, care pathways, and service improvement plans
  • Assess and screen for clinical and supportive care needs for young patients

 About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

 Salary

  • Temporary part time (up to six months, 40 hrs p.f.).
  • Base salary ranging from $66.86 - $72.59 per hour

The Specialist Cancer Nursing Team (SCNT) assists patients and their carers to navigate their journeys with a full understanding of the avenues of support available to them throughout the cancer care continuum.

The SCNT provides an innovative and flexible service that exists to improve the patient experience of the cancer journey throughout the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services. Ensure the provision of best practice cancer care, facilitating outcomes consistent with established evidence-based guidelines.
