About us:
North Rockhampton Nursing Centre (NRNC) caters for those who are unable to live independently at home for a variety of reasons. It is home to over 120 residents and is spread over three wings:
- Cecil Pritchard Wing
- Ivy Baker Wing
- Westwood Wing

About the role:
Design, implement and evaluate a variety of recreational, diversional and social activities to improve or maintain the physical and mental function of the residents of the NRNC.
- Assess the needs of individual residents and plan individual lifestyle programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Implement and evaluate activities appropriate to needs of aged care residents, including those residents with dementia.
- Assist residents to undertake recreational or leisure activities to ensure their wellbeing and safety.
- Provide assistance and on-the-job training for volunteers, visitors and students on placement who assist with the activities program.
- Liaise and network with community groups and organisations in order to maintain resident contact and involvement with the local community.
About you:
While not mandatory, it is highly desirable that the applicant possess or be working towards one of the following qualifications:
- Advanced Certificate in Disability Studies
- Certificate IV in Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy)
- Certificate IV in Community Services (Community Work)
- Certificate IV in Diversional Therapy
- Certificate IV in Community Services – Leisure and Lifestyle
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
- Trade level equivalent qualifications
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $82,130 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $34.53 - $36.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
