The Nurse Educator (Banana) is a Registered Nurse who is accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation, and assessment of nursing education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues within Central Queensland Health.

About us:

The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff, to facilitate the achievement of best practice health service delivery requirements. The Education and Research Unit is led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research.

About the role:

  • Translate and incorporate the principles of contemporary nursing and midwifery education as they apply to practice and provide clinical leadership for nursing and midwifery services through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
  • Provide education leadership and expertise and act as a clinical resource, mentor role model, and technical expert within the multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Apply teaching, facilitation, assessment and feedback skills through planning, developing, delivering and evaluating evidenced based clinical education.

About you:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in which clinical education was a component is a requirement of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion of the required post-graduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance review process.
  • Advanced Life Support, Paediatric Advanced Life Support and Triage proficiency are highly desirable for this role.
  • Endorsement with AHPRA to supply scheduled medicines – Rural and Isolated Practice or credentialing as an immunisation nurse is highly desirable for this role.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $5,761 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
