About Parkhurst State School

Parkhurst State School is on the northern outskirts of Rockhampton. The school is a community of 429 students and approximately 50 staff, recognised as having a truly inclusive, caring and supportive environment with professional personnel working as a team and in partnership with our parents and community.

About the Role

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Perform a variety of day to day administrative and support services that are routine in nature and directed by the Principal or the Business Manager e.g. arranging appointments, processing incoming and outgoing mail and emails;
  • Undertake routine activities including reception (telephone and counter enquiries, maintaining school records, student admissions and departures, first aid and administering medication);
  • Administer day to day financial matters - accounts receivable, follow-up on late payments (as directed by Principal or Business Manager);
  • Daily student absences;
  • Prepare reports, forms, check correspondence, with guidance from the Principal or Business Manager concerning correspondence of a non-routine nature;
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. school and departmental staff, parents, students, and community members);
  • and demonstrates empathy, emotional understanding and support.

About You

  • Administrative experience;
  • OneSchool experience is preferred;
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously within a team environment;
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills;
  • Efficient multi-tasking and time management skills;
  • Proven ability to work independently, achieving quality outcomes;
  • Professional discretion;
  • Ability to confidently acquire the knowledge needed to fulfil the above skills and responsibilities.
