Become a valued member of our Corporate Finance branch to help manage our department’s finances. You will be responsible for the delivery of quality financial and business services across the department and, the first points of contact for departmental staff for financial services. You will provide financial solutions and advice, ensure continuous improvement in financial services practices, work collaboratively with the team in delivering timely and compliant statutory and administrative reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities
As Senior Finance Officer, you will:
• Deliver a range of financial and asset services and support for the department and ensure identified outcomes and timelines are met.
• Provide high quality and well researched advice, interpretation and feedback to senior managers, colleagues, employees, clients and stakeholders on a broad range of financial operational related issues with a strong focus on customer service.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, directives and departmental policies, the collection of information and data and the preparation and presentation of reports.
• Administration of the DESBT ProMaster corporate card and Travel Management System (CTM), including departmental reconciliation, user access management, system controls, internal segregations and ensuring user capability overall.
• Preparation of accruals and other journals including general ledger review and corrections as required.
• Provide advice to departmental officers in relation to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Manage the recording and reporting on the purchase, movement and disposal of assets including planning and undertaking annual stocktakes and maintaining and monitoring of reports to meet departmental requirements.
• Establish and manage strong working relationships and networks both internal and external to the department.
• Review and implementation of policies, functions and processes that contribute to improvements in the department's financial operations and asset management systems and practices
