About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to play a critical role in delivering culturally safe, family-centred maternity services, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families throughout the antenatal, birthing, postnatal and early parenting journey.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead the coordination and delivery of comprehensive antenatal and postnatal health assessment, including early detection and proactive management strategies for maternal and infant health. Ensure culturally responsive care tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
- Provide expert emotional and practical care interventions to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women throughout labour, delivery and postnatal care. Act as an advocate to ensure a safe and respectful birthing experience.
- Lead the development implementation, and evaluation of culturally responsive maternal, infant, and family health promotion programs. Ensure these programs address the specific health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, focusing on prevention, education, and early intervention.
