The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior (Child and Youth Mental Health Consultation Liaison Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Manage a highly complex caseload with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision
  • Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with professional code of ethics
  • Demonstrate initiative and responsibility in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities
  • Provide leadership and mentoring, including clinical practice supervision to HP3 psychologists and psychologists-in-training

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work 
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
  • Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
  • Driver Licence
  • Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost Social Worker Only)
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent part time (30.4 hrs p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

About Us

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Access Team is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty team operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide multi-specialty mental health intervention to children and young people (0-18 years). The CYMHS Access Team provide triage, assessment and acute care intervention to children and young people in the community or presenting to the local Emergency Departments, both within and after hours.
