The opportunity (key responsibilities/duties)
As the Manager, Strategic Infrastructure you will:
- Provide authoritative advice to senior executives on issues involving infrastructure and leased accommodation, resource and asset management and financial management.
- Lead and coordinate the development of accommodation strategies, management policies and critical business processes, which promotes effective and efficient operational and resource management outcomes in alignment with effective work health and safety outcomes for staff.
- Engage effectively and persuasively with executive managers and external agencies on sensitive and complex issues to gain commitment to agreed operational and resource management outcomes.
- Ensure DPI meets legislative, assurance and corporate governance, and reporting responsibilities for accommodation.

- Communicate DPI's strategic position on infrastructure at whole of government level with external collaborators and stakeholders.
- Manage multidisciplinary work teams whose emphasis is to provide high level service delivery and strategic advice to clients on operational infrastructure, resource and asset management issues.
- Develop and implement strategic approaches and solutions to complex infrastructure and Housing issues to achieve organisation objectives.
What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience):
- Whilst not mandatory, an appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- The functional and technical knowledge and skills to manage accommodation and facilities at a high level of accomplishment.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- A very good understanding of budget and financial principles.
- For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can assist with these assessments for Queensland residents.
