The Maritime Safety Queensland Branch (MSQ), Marine Engineering Team is seeking a PO5 Principal Engineer (Civil) to join our dynamic, diverse and inclusive team. You will have the opportunity to lead, manage and contribute to the design and delivery of marine infrastructure for internal and external customers all throughout the State of Queensland.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Project manage the delivery of a portfolio of marine infrastructure projects simultaneously from planning through to implementation, within agreed timeframes and budget, using project management principles, methodologies, TMR processes, and 3PCM Unifier.
• Autonomously undertake civil / structural engineering design of marine infrastructure in accordance with Australia Standards, departmental standards, design guidelines, policies, and legislative requirements, and mentor and provide support to the engineering team.
• Prepare estimates, tender documentation and specifications for the procurement of construction contractors using departmental documentation, 3PCM Unifier and evaluate tenders and award contracts.
• Undertake contract administration (filling the role of Administrator's Representative) of the construction contracts for marine infrastructure using Minor Infrastructure Contract - Construct Only (MIC-CO) General Conditions of Contract, or other Contract Conditions, manage the contracts within 3PCM Unifier, and undertake site inspections to verify quality of construction / fabrication works, observe witness / hold points and confirm actual progress of completed works which may include multiple overnight intrastate travel.
• Undertake 'Level 2' condition assessments of existing marine infrastructure and prepare reports and cost estimates for rectification works which may include multiple overnight intrastate travel.
