Please note, as part of Machinery of Government changes, this position is expected to transition to Queensland Fire Department in 2026.

You'll be working with ICT systems and services related to the Emergency Triple Zero call taking and dispatch functions of our customer agencies, which directly affect officer and public safety. Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Research, review, analyse and report on emerging telecommunications technology as well as provide specialist consultancy advice when required.
• Develop, approve and maintain complex telecommunications project design principles and technical standards.
• Coordinate and lead the design and application of contract and technical performance management for telecommunications network and infrastructure
projects across the public safety portfolio.
• Coordinate and participate in regional telecommunications forums in order to develop responsive partnerships with relevant public safety stakeholders.
• Prepare technical telephony specifications to enable procurement and delivery of required business outcomes.

Role Requirements

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:

Qualifications

• Associate Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification would be highly regarded.

Skills/experience

Highly Desirable

• Minimum of five (5) years' industry experience.
• Exposure to PRINCE2 methodologies.
