QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
The role plays a crucial part in achieving QBuild's organisational objectives by utilising contemporary scheduling systems to effectively coordinate the construction and delivery of multiple projects and programs.
Operating within a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will ensure that both current and future pipeline projects are delivered on time and within resource constraints. By working closely with the QBuild Apprenticeship team, delivery teams, and other key stakeholders, the role contributes to the accurate scheduling of apprentices to appropriate tasks, supports training competency, and ensures consistent project execution.
Duties and skills involved:
- Utilise advanced scheduling tools to plan and manage multiple project timelines, ensuring efficiency in resource allocation and adherence to critical deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with Apprentice Supervisors and the QBuild Apprenticeship team to assign apprentices to projects, facilitating their skill development.
- Create detailed project schedules in partnership with delivery teams to facilitate successful program execution.
- Implement scheduling processes with regional decision-makers to optimise operations.
- Drive standardisation and accuracy in project scheduling and reporting by coordinating with QBuild stakeholders.
- Regularly review and adjust project plans with Delivery teams to address resource challenges, escalating issues to Regional Management as needed.
- Lead and enhance a team of Program Schedulers, fostering a safety culture and striving for corporate goal attainment through continuous improvement.
- Analyse regional strategies for project pipelines and resources, managing change effectively and nurturing team relationships to optimise overall performance.
