The position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will have the option to work from home under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilites
- Work closely with the Director and Manager (leadership team) to provide expert legislative policy services to the QBCC.
- Lead the Legislative Concerns Register (LCR) process as part of the Legislative Policy Governance Framework to support the Commissioner's strategic priorities for government advocacy and legislative policy reform. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify legislative issues, undertake further research in relation to LCR matters and work with the leadership team assign LCR priorities.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, particularly the Department of Public Works, to facilitate information exchange and develop policy options for progression.
- Advise the leadership team on policy and legislation reform matters.

Candidate Attributes
- Demonstrated understanding of policy and legislative development processes particularly as they relate to the QBCC.
- High-level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external stakeholder engagement strategies that promote trust and confidence.
- Ability to research and produce high quality written material on complex legislative issues.
- High level project planning and implementation skills to support legislative issues research and legislative change implementation.
