About Us:
Grants Management and Funding, within the Early Childhood Division, manages the end to end grants process, including the creation of Service Agreements, assessing funded organisations' financial performance reports, and provision of funding to more than 2,300 organisations.
The Kindy Funding team provides quarterly payments to more than 2,200 funded kindergarten providers, enabling more than 64,000 children to access Free Kindy in Queensland. Funding is administered through the Department's grants system, QGrants.
About the Role:
A summary of the role that's being advertised, utilised to educate the candidate on the vacancy.
As the Senior Program Officer in the Kindy Funding team, you will:
- Support the delivery of early childhood programs including funding program development, and implementation and performance management of funded services.
- Support the development of strategic initiatives and provide advice on policy development, operational planning and programs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Research, plan, implement, analyse and evaluate projects and programs.
- Support the management of a suite of programs, including management of high-volume administration of claims, contract management and providing strong customer service to internal and external clients.
- Perform data analytics and financial reporting, to ensure the strategic aims and objectives of the Government are achieved.
- Provide advice on operational policies, programs and legislative issues relating to early childhood programs and services.
- Develop and maintain effective linkages with:
- regional staff, to ensure policies and programs reflect the identified needs and issues and that programs and services are delivered effectively.
- other work areas to ensure policies and program proposals are consistent with departmental objectives.
- other departments and non-government organisations to ensure policies and departmental proposals are consistent with program objectives and a whole of government approach to early childhood.
