The Dietetics and Nutrition Department located at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Nutrition Assistant - Advanced, to join their friendly and supportive team.

PLEASE NOTE - This is a temporary part-time vacancy, up to 11 months working 38 hours per fortnight.

The Nutrition Assistant - Advanced assists in the provision of optimal nutritional care for patients at the Townsville University Hospital by supporting dietetic staff within the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics .

About the opportunity:

Position: Nutrition Assistant - Advanced

Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary part-time, up to 11 months (38 hours per fortnight)

Location: Nutition and Dietitics Department, Townsville University Hospital

The Nutrition Assistant - Advanced contributes to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to allied health professionals in their day-to-day clinical duties. Thie positons works under the supervision and direction of the Allied Health Professional and undertakes only those clinical tasks delegated to them.

  • Salary range: $38.36 to $41.02 p.h. (CA4)
  • 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata)  with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • A Certificate IV – Allied Health Assistant or equivalent is required for this position. Evidence of any qualifications must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of duties.
  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
