About the role
As our Finance Officer you will:
• Support the Senior Finance Officer in preparing annual budget estimates, identifying financial, administrative, or asset management issues, and providing information as required. Assist with budgeting functions, financial reporting, and financial investigations, including journals and corrective actions, to ensure timely and accurate information is recorded.
• Assist with procurement and contract management activities, including contract development, specific procurement projects, and providing advice and support to CBS clients, ensuring compliance with Departmental and Whole of Government processes and stakeholder expectations.
• Provide courteous, efficient, and timely customer service to internal and external clients, maintaining strong relationships through effective communication and issue resolution.
• Manage workflow efficiently by negotiating priorities and timeframes while maintaining a high level of quality in all duties, adhering to processes and systems, and seeking continuous improvement.
• Undertake compliance reviews and provide administrative governance advice, guidance, and support for the development and review of finance-related resources and processes that align with FMPM policies and procedures.
• Deliver advice, support, and education on DPI financial processes and procedures, including training new finance officers, supporting learning and development activities, and educating clients to effectively manage their financial activities.
• Contribute to project support activities, including research, data management, and the preparation of reports, briefing notes, submissions, and other correspondence on complex issues to enhance CBS business support and customer service.
Essential requirements
• Understanding and application of General Ledger account code.
• Knowledge of Common Reporting Program (CRP) or similar programs, Departmental FMPM and Queensland Procurement Policy.
• Knowledge and experience utilising various software packages including SAP, SharePoint, PowerBI, and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
