Warwick State High School is looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Science Technician to join our Science team.
This is a temporary part-time position (0.49 FTE), 36 hours per fortnight.

This is a TO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.

About the Role
As the Science Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, distribute, and set up samples, demonstrations, class sets of equipment, and associated scientific materials for practical teaching laboratory use.
- Work independently in a science laboratory, recognizing, anticipating, and safely managing chemical hazards.
- Assist science teaching staff and senior laboratory staff with demonstrations, instructing students on the use and care of equipment during science experiments and field trips, and ensuring the application of safety measures.
- Support the promotion and implementation of various STEM initiatives to increase student engagement and STEM pathways.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchase orders, and incoming deliveries; arrange collection, receipting, unpacking, and checking invoices; store stock and manage a chemical stock register; monitor chemicals; and ensure the provision of current Safety Data Sheets.
