Townsville University Hospital is seeking Certified Maternal Fetal Medicine Consultants to join North Queensland's only Maternal Fetal Medicine Department. Our team provides expert clinical management for women with diverse and complex needs, offering a comprehensive range of screening, diagnostic, and support services across both public and private healthcare sectors.

What's on offer?
Permanent Full-time or Part-time, hours negotiable (up to 80 hours per fortnight)

Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $536,916 p.a.

  • Base salary range $210332 - $266677 p.a. (f/t) or $100.78 - $127.77 p.h. (p/t) (L18-L27)
  • Rostered or approved overtime is additional to base salary
  • Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)
  • Annual leave (5 weeks) + 17.5% loading
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance - $21,000 or $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave

About the role

  • Participate in the general Obstetrics and Gynaecology on-call roster as per the service requirements and actively provide support, training and supervision for the Maternal Fetal Medicine fellow role.
  • Support and provide ultrasound training to the Royal Australian and New-Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) trainees within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.
  • Triage referrals to ensure women requiring MFM services receive high quality specialist care within a safe timeframe. Referrals are streamlined and redirected to alternative specialist clinical services as required.

Role requirements
Qualified as a medical practitioner, and specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia and either qualifications as a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) subspecialist with Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or currently in training to obtain MFM subspecialty (MFM training fellow with RANZCOG).
