Please note that Forensic Science Queensland has recently been through a Machinery of Government change, and as of 1 July 2024, was administratively assigned to the Department of Justice.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic Information Management (IM) and Information Communication Technology (ICT) environment, assisting in the delivery of integrated, effective, and innovative business solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate the delivery of a specialised technical ICT solution, ensuring it meets organisational needs and is sustainable in a high-scrutiny enterprise environment.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of ‘As-Is' and ‘To-Be' business process models using approved methods and tools.
- Contribute to the development of business and software requirements specifications for IM/ICT projects, ensuring traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage with other FSQ teams to ensure business/software requirements are aligned and fit for purpose.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement, including the development of a stakeholder matrix and ongoing management.
- Interpret business and user requirements and research the optimal application of information systems solutions to enhance business outputs.
Technical Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in business analysis activities within IM/ICT programs or projects.
- Proficiency in business process modelling techniques, including ‘As-Is' and ‘To-Be' models, preferably using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN).
- Strong knowledge and experience in developing business and software requirement specifications, ensuring traceability, preferably aligned with BABOK Version 3.0.
- Expertise in applying business analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools in accordance with BABOK 3.0.
- Demonstrated ability in researching, analysing, and documenting business and software requirements.
- Strong skills in creating quality written analysis documentation.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and develop productive working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in information technology, business analysis, or a similar discipline is highly regarded, though not mandatory.
