About the role:
To provide expertise in data management to achieve program goals and service objectives in relation to the Immunisation Program and Communicable Disease Outbreak response, undertake and document complex quality improvement processes for the collection and maintenance of child, adult, and School Immunisation Program (SIP) vaccination data, with a special focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander vaccination data and other vulnerable populations as required. Provide advanced level data support services and advice to stakeholders through education, training, feedback, provision of immunisation histories and through the production and management of overdue reminder notices.
The Public Health Data Officer is also responsible for the coordination of the School Immunisation Program, in collaboration with the Public Health Nurse – Immunisation, including data collection, Service Agreements, Deeds of Variation, Invoicing and Budget Management.
About you:
- While not mandatory, Cert IV in Training and Assessment would be well regarded.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with team members and a wide variety of health professionals and organisations in order to achieve organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated high level ability in understanding and managing medical or health related databases, including data entry, Excel spreadsheets and production of routine reports from databases.
- Broad knowledge of National and State Immunisation Program Schedules and their reminder systems, or ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the goals of the work unit.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $114,177 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
