Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

To proactively engage with stakeholders to monitor data quality, provide advice and implement solutions to continuously improve the accuracy, timeliness, validity, relevance, reliability and completeness of patient level data in clinical information systems.

About the opportunity:

Position: Data Quality Officer

Vacancy: Permanent full-time (multiple positions available)

Location: Clinical Information Service, Corporate Service Group, Townsville University Hospital

The Data Quality Unit's focus is to maintain the validity, integrity and timeliness of information held within the patient administration system and ESM, and provides advice to all Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) staff regarding accuracy of related work processes, is responsible for promoting, educating, maintaining, validating and managing data collection and counting activities to meet key reporting requirements and to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to promote and implement activities aimed at enhancing data integrity throughout the Townsville HHS.

  • Salary range: $3481.60 to $3835.70 p.f. (AO4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
