You will provide a safe and caring environment for all customers, including daily care, support and assistance in life and living skills at Jimaylya Topsy Harry Centre who are homeless or have alcohol related social issues in a caring and nonjudgmental manner.

The position is a casual shift worker, including day, evening and night shifts, week-ends and public holidays.

You will be required to:
• Provide support and supervision to all customers who are homeless or have alcohol related social issues in a caring and non-judgmental manner.
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and societies, an understanding of the issues which impact upon them in a contemporary society.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation.
• Monitor customer activities within the entire centre in accordance with the centre's practices and procedures, ensuring rules of the centre are abided.
• Carry out duties as required to maintain a healthy, safe, clean and tidy environment including the upkeep and maintenance of resident's areas.
• Liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including customers, members of the community, police, ambulance and medical staff, departmental staff, government and non-government service providers.
• Participate in the process of continuous improvement to advance the quality and efficiency of the centre and participating as a team member in delivering culturally appropriate and well-planned services to customers.
• Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
