Position: Senior Clinical Lead - Clinical Nurse Consultant (Community Forensic Mental Health Service)

Vacancy: Permanent Full-time

Location: Community Forensic Mental Health Service / Mental Health Service Group / Townsville University Hospital

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Occupational Therapy - the successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy.
  • Psychology - the successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution.   
  • Social Work - the successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). 
  • While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded.
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. 
  • Highly Desirable: Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.  
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. 
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
