Ripley Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that will deliver 90 additional beds in West Moreton as part of Queensland Health’s Accelerated Infrastructure Delivery Program. The project will deliver a three-storey facility and multi-storey car park located on Botany Drive, South Ripley.

About the role

This position works in the sub-acute services as an Occupational Therapy team leader providing operational coordination and strategic leadership. 

The key responsibilities of the Team Leader role will include:

  • Develop detailed models of care for the clinical service and a business performance framework
  • Develop and update policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Finalise workforce plans
  • Provide clinical input to ensure furniture, fixtures and equipment is installed in appropriate locations and meets the required clinical need.
  • Provide clinical input into digital systems testing.
  • Recruit and onboard Occupational Therapy staff.
  • Ensure all staff are trained sufficiently and orientated.
  • Assess whether your clinical service is safe to operate and input into Go/No Go assessments and decision making.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Contemporary specialist-level knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy services within one or more areas of expertise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment and senior management to influence a clinical or service outcome, influence culture and supply strategic direction.
  • Ability to independently apply latest clinical evidence and high-level judgement to guide the team in managing highly complex clinical caseloads. 
  • Ability to lead quality and service improvement activities within a medium-sized team that result in improved outcomes for patients/customers and/or the organisation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence clinical practice through the provision of professional advocacy, including data management and evaluation.
