We currently have 4 Teacher Aide vacancies available for a 6-month period, unless otherwise determined.
Each role is 0.79 FTE, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 3:30 pm.

About the School
Toowoomba West Special School is a welcoming and inclusive state school for Prep to Year 6, dedicated to helping students build independence through engaging, personalised learning. We place a strong focus on developing social skills and communication, working closely with families to create meaningful, age-appropriate programs. About the Role
As key members of the school support staff, the successful applicants will contribute to creating a caring and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs and will support individuals and small groups in classroom settings, all under the direction of teachers.
- Supporting students individually and in small groups to work towards goals outlined in Individual Behaviour Support Plans, Individual Curriculum Plans, and Targeted Support Plans, under teacher direction.
- Preparing classroom resources as directed by teachers.
- Supervising individuals and small groups of students as directed by teachers.
- Completing required health-related training to support and supervise individual students as needed.
- Assisting with health-related needs of students, including administering medication, feeding, and toileting (training provided).
These skills are desirable and preferred but not mandatory for the role:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Interest and/or experience in working with students with diverse learning needs
- High attention to detail, with initiative and motivation to achieve goals
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build strong relationships with a diverse range of people
- High energy and physical capability to actively support students in classrooms and play areas
- Professional respect for privacy and confidentiality of student and family information
