Principal Project Officer

Are you ready to step into a leadership role where your project management expertise will directly contribute to the delivery of high-impact government initiatives? The Quantum and Advanced Technologies team in the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation seek a dynamic and motivated Principal Project Officer (AO7) to join our team for a temporary period of seven (7) months from mid-June 2025, with a possible extension.
In this diverse role, you will provide high-level project management, strategic advice, and operational support to ensure the successful delivery of key programs aligned with Queensland Government priorities.

The Quantum and Advanced Technologies team supports the development and accelerated delivery of the quantum and advanced technologies sector, helping to unlock the State's deep science capabilities, keep pace with the rapidly evolving science and industry developments, attract inward investment and contribute to the State's global reputation.
This is a great opportunity for you to work alongside a multidisciplinary team to gain valuable experience in the delivery of government programs, and for you to apply your knowledge and expertise in project planning and management, grant management, and communication and stakeholder engagement to contribute to meaningful outcomes for the quantum sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex projects with strategic significance across the department.
- Provide expert advice to senior executives and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and drive performance to meet key milestones.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and submissions to support decision-making.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
