Clinical Nurse - Mental Health

Mental Health Emergency Department are looking for a Clinical Nurse to join their team. The Princess Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department Mental Health team is a multidisciplinary team that provides a 24-hour acute mental health assessment service for consumers presenting to the emergency department with acute mental health concerns. Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS) provide inpatient, hospital-based and community mental health and community alcohol and drug services for all age groups across a number of campuses. The service is committed to the provision of services that are patient centered and recovery focused.

About the Role
The Clinical Nurse role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills to assess, plan and coordinate the clinical management of consumers presenting to the PAH Emergency Department with acute mental health concerns. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of recovery specialist care.
- The Clinical Nurse provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
- The Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering quality care at an advanced level that requires a broad developing knowledge in professional issues for consumers who experience acute mental health concerns.
- The Clinical Nurse promotes professional standards of practice and conduct and is responsible for achievement of unit goals and standards utilising contemporary evidence-based interventions.
- The position provides a contact and a source of professional advice for care providers and other relevant clinical stakeholders on mental health service delivery, comprehensive assessment, risk management and Mental Health Act 2016 legislation.
