The Manager, Acquisition will actively source and identify complex redevelopment and property investment opportunities for the department. The focus for this position is to optimise site outcomes on complex property acquisitions for the department.

What you will be doing:
• Provide strategic guidance on the design, planning, management, implementation, and delivery of a substantial acquisition programs within a large property portfolio.
• Applying specialist knowledge to provide high level advice and assistance in the coordination of forward years' acquisition programs, including the acquisition of land, to meet specific and future needs of the department.
• Represent and negotiate on behalf of the department in meetings with external service providers to investigate alternative procurement methods that enable the continuous supply of effective housing solutions.
• Providing advice to executive management regarding the market and budgetary requirements.
• Liaising with other areas within the department and the Housing Partnerships Office, including Capital Delivery and Procurement and Portfolio Strategy and Planning.
• Manage the procurement of technical specialists and ensure compliance of key service providers
• Provide high level reports, submissions, and briefs on complex property matters in relation to property acquisition.
• Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of a day-to-day operations
The skills you will need include being able to:
• Clearly articulate the program's role in achieving the organisational vision, working with others to determine program strategy, parameters and purpose.
• Chart a clear direction for the team by consistently communicating the greater meaning and impact of the work undertake.
• Communicate with influence, articulating complex concepts and compelling rationales to diverse audiences, and promote the organisation's position with authority and credibility cross-government, cross-jurisdictionally and outside of government.
• Build and manage successful partnerships and relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
• Analyse data and trends to identify risks to project activities and empowers others to incorporate risk management into planning.
Mandatory Requirements
Although not mandatory, a property related degree would be highly regarded.
Drivers Licence
