About us: Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.

About you:

In this position you will:

  • Responsible for leading, managing, supporting the development, and assisting in the implementation, of a sustainability strategy for the HHS and drive the delivery and implementation of the HHS's sustainability plan.
  • Supporting the identification and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the HHS and support the business areas to incorporate sustainability practices into all phases of the asset lifecycle and achieve improved outcomes aligned with our business goals; incorporating the principles of Sustainable Value including patient and population outcomes, with environmental, financial and social accountability.
  • Leading the research of new, innovative, and evidence based best practice to inform the development and roll-out of fit for purpose environmental sustainability practices, programs and reporting across the HHS.
  • Provide expert advice, direction and guidance to stakeholders relating to project, programs and initiatives under the key strategic elements of the sustainability strategy.
