About us:

Central Queensland Oral Health Service strives to provide a fair and equitable oral health service to the eligible clientele with emphasis on providing evidence based dental treatment in the context of public health dentistry, whilst maintaining a supportive work environment for the oral health staff.

Oral Health Service in CQHHS comprises of eleven community dental clinics based within the geographical boundaries of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services, including: Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Emerald, Springsure, Blackwater, Moura, Biloela, Mount Morgan, Woorabinda and Capricornia Correctional Centre.  In addition to these, CQ Oral Health Service also comprises of several fixed and mobile school dental clinics. 

About the role:

Provide high quality general dental practitioner oral health services to the eligible population as well as providing professional support to all streams within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) Oral Health Service.

  • Demonstrated knowledge, clinical skills, and competence to provide all clinical procedures within the general dental scope of practice including dental extractions, direct restorations, dentures, preventive dentistry, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to patient needs and complaints.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in relevant professional development and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including liaising effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
    • Possession of a licence to use radiation apparatus for dental purposes is required.
    • The successful applicant must complete an application for a Medicare provider number for a dentist for the required location/s within CQHHS Oral Health Services.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $170,573 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.45 - $75.39 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
