North Rockhampton State High School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Principal - Middle School to join our dynamic leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and inclusive school community that caters for students from Years 7 to 12.

As Deputy Principal, you will play a pivotal role in leading school improvement initiatives, enhancing teaching and learning practices, and building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis.

North Rockhampton State High School, established in 1956, is a proudly co-educational secondary school located in Frenchville, Rockhampton. About the Role

In addition to your whole-of-school responsiblities, you will have specific oversight of student management of Years 9 & 10, with a focus on behaviour, engagement, and attendance. Your role will be central in supporting students through the middle phase of schooling, building strong connections between curriculum, wellbeing and pathways.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Proven leadership in curriculum, pedagogy and school improvement.
  • Expertise in driving high-impact, data-informed teaching strategies.
  • Ability to lead change, build team capacity, and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, wellbeing, and academic achievement.
  • Build positive and productive partnerships with staff, students, parents and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to whole-school strategic planning and implementation.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
