Coding Quality Coordinator

Clinical Coding Service are looking for a Quality Coding Coordinator to join their team. Health Information Management Service (HIMS) is managed within Digital Health & Informatics by the Chief Information Officer. HIMS comprises five separate units that provide essential administrative services for the efficient functioning of Metro South Health hospitals. The Clinical Coding core functions include clinical coding of diagnoses, procedures and treatment. This information is used for many purposes including epidemiological research, establishing clinical benchmarks, resource allocation and health planning.

About the Role
- Contribute to the Coding Clinical Liaison program to improve quality of clinical documentation and provide education for clinicians and other health professionals regarding clinical documentation, coding, Hospital Acquired Complications, Diagnosis Related Groups and Activity Based Funding
- Participate in the analysis, validation, and reconciliation of coded data to ensure coded data integrity.
- Develop and perform coding quality improvement activities suitable to an ABF environment including individual, targeted and service-wide audits, Queensland Health key performance indicator audits such as VLADs (Variable life Adjusted Displays) and other audits as required.
- Identify training needs, develop, and deliver education sessions for coding staff.
