Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
The purpose of the Digital Transformation Strategy Officer is to ensure Townsville Mental Health Service Group teams have the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively deliver digitally enabled healthcare as well as lead, coordinator and facilitate the delivery of statewide digital transformation.

About the opportunity:
Position: Digital Transformation Strategy Officer
Vacancy: Permanent full-time, 76 hours p.f.
Location: Safety, Education, Risk & Quality Unit (SERQU), Vincent Health Campus
- Lead and support statewide digital capability uplift through enablement of new workforce and technical capabilities within the local service delivery context.
- Clinically lead the evidence-based development and safe delivery of enhanced digital systems and processes, collaborating with statewide clinical governance bodies, HHSs, health executives and technical partners to provide better insights, focus and healthcare outcomes, improving consumer quality of care delivery.
- Apply advanced clinical knowledge and understanding of Mental Health Service Group – service delivery to improve workforce utilisation of data, information, and analytics to support data driven decision making with the Townsville HHS in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a range of diverse projects and strategies designed to drive clinical and service improvement.

Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $172,615 p.a., including:
- Salary range: $144,991 to $151,289 p.a. (HP5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- C Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence - the successful applicant many be required to operate a class C motor vehicle, therefore possession of the appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
- Significant experience in the delivery of complex information management in a healthcare setting.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
