Your opportunity:
- Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service has established an innovative new Crisis Support Space service, as part of a Statewide trial to enhance mental health crisis care for people experiencing distress and/or suicidality. This consumer-centred after-hours service, which provides a safe and welcoming space as an alternative to an emergency department setting, is a peer-led model that aims to improve outcomes and experiences for consumers and their loved ones.
- The Crisis Support Space Advanced Peer Worker will work under direction to facilitate the development, planning and delivery of supports to consumers of the mental health service. An Advanced Peer Worker utilises their lived experience of mental health issues to model recovery strategies and assist consumers, carers and families, service providers and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework and work towards achieving the best outcomes for consumers.
Under 25s of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived experience of mental illness and recovery and/or caring for someone with a lived experience of mental illness and recovery.

Our offer:
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $45,670 p.a., comprising salary rates $45.81 - $50.47 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (Permanent Part Time, 30.4 hours p.f.).
