Advanced Peer Support Worker

Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services are looking for an Adavanced Peer Worker to join their team. The Community Care Unit is a residential rehabilitation service for consumers aged 18 – 65yo who are in recovery from mental illness and who require additional assistance to successfully reintegrate to community living. The CCU offers fully self-contained units and 24/7 rehabilitation support, including individual and group therapeutic and recovery focussed biopsychosocial interventions.

About the Role
- Share and teach self-help and self-management techniques within the peer relationship.
- Demonstrate personal boundaries when working with consumers, staff and other stakeholders
- Support consumers to participate in appointments and meetings of their choice and perform a range of practical tasks aligned to their recovery goals.
- Provide general feedback and advice to all staff regarding consumer and carer participation, education, support and recovery-oriented practice.
