Data Insights Support Analyst

You will be responsible for supporting the Analytics team in their day-to-day functions, which may consist of - responding to queries, data extraction, data analysis, and providing insights and recommendations.

This position sits within the Data Insights team, working side-by-side with the Data Engineering team as part of the Analytics group, providing crucial data analysis and reporting services to support strategic decision-making within the National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency), Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Nominal Defendant (ND) (collectively referred to as the Motor Accident Insurance Schemes Queensland or MAIS-Q).

Your role

  • Provide support for data analysis services, including data collection, cleaning, and interpretation to deliver insights.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes and frameworks to ensure business continuity.
  • Support the development of data analytics, contributing to a data-informed approach within the organisation.
  • Assist in premiums and levies setting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the CTP premium cycle and levies setting process.

About you

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared values, and a broad skillset that includes:

  • The ability to assist in the delivery of data reports through the use of visualisation tools to communicate data effectively (e.g. Power BI).
  • Experience in straightforward data analysis, including data collection, cleaning, and interpretation.
  • Experience with SQL, R/Python, or Databricks would be highly regarded.
  • Strong written communication skills, and the ability to contribute to presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest data analysis tools and techniques.
