We are seeking a positive and savvy individual to join our team providing pre-analytical processing of clinical specimens within the Infectious Diseases Laboratory (IDL), Microbiology Division and participating in a roster including Saturdays and Sundays.

Perform general laboratory duties including the receipt of specimens and the registration of requests into the laboratory information system.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality pre-analytical processing of clinical specimens for a Molecular Microbiology Laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to work conscientiously and accurately with minimal local supervision.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including laboratory manuals and basic maintenance procedures on laboratory equipment.
- A commitment to the maintenance of high professional standards and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
