You will analyse components of service plans and other documentation related to service planning to support the provision of well-considered advice within the Department or to external stakeholders.
What you'll do
• Undertake analysis of data and research of clinical evidence to identify future priorities and issues for Queensland Health that informs the development and review of planning projects.
• Develop and present research, analysis, options and recommendations for strategic policy and service planning activities based on international, national, and state resources.
• Develop and contribute to the preparation of timely and professionally researched high-level briefing documents, submissions, discussion papers, correspondence and reports that draw together qualitative and quantitative information.
• Develop tools and provide training in their application that will assist staff to achieve outcomes in service planning and assist in the transferability of these skills to other staff.
• Use data programs, tools, and software to analyse a broad range of relevant data and present data in a variety of ways (charts & tables).
• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Health System, including key health priority areas, health system issues, the health needs of key population groups, and health service provision data.
• Ability to source, critically analyse and interpret data and research including both qualitative and quantitative information to underpin policy the development statewide, strategic and system level and service planning, including identification of system priorities.
• Ability to extract data from large datasets, data management skills, demonstrated analytical skills and practical ability in complex data analysis and interrogation and interpreting and communicating the results.
• Ability to use software for data analysis (e.g., R or similar, Excel, SQL, Power BI) and willingness to develop skills in the use of other software programs.
