The purpose of this role is to deliver senior pharmacist services within the critical care pharmacy team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, including Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care procedure room, as well as the Neurosurgery, Neurology and Cardiothoracic wards. About the Role 

  • Manage an allocated workload to deliver pharmacy services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within an interprofessional team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
  • Acts as a clinical reference point with the pharmacy and critical care team and responds to every-day clinical demands.
  • Collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within pharmacy department and critical care areas.
  • Actively participate in professional and interprofessional team meetings including clinical case conferences and departmental meetings.
  • Undertake high level and non-routine duties including provision of clinical advice to other multidisciplinary and pharmacy team members.
  • Liaise and work effectively in a professional manner with clients and their carers, other health professionals, students and external agencies to achieve a client centred approach, utilising negotiation and conflict resolution skills as required.
