About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment.

The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transfer patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.

About the role:

  • Demonstrate clinical and technical expertise with appropriate knowledge, skills, and ability to deliver quality patient clinical care services across acute, sub-acute, geriatric evaluation, perioperative and maintenance care.
  • Provide evidence-based and quality clinical care of individual patients in all domains of medical practice.
  • Attend and provide support to a range of internal and external committees, forums, meetings, working parties and expert advisory groups.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication skills in clinical practice and corporate functions.
  • Proactively manage patient feedback and actively assist in the investigation, response and remediation to incidents and complaints.

About you:

Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist Physician – Geriatric Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). 

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the specialty of Geriatric Medicine is required specialist qualification, however applicants with equivalent overseas qualifications assessed as substantially comparable by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians may also be considered.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program with the appropriate bodies.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
  • A salary rate between $210,332 – $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
