In the role of Senior Engineer (Civil) you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects (programmed and routine maintenance) through the provision of technical expertise and the administration of contracts and support to the design, construction and maintenance processes. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provide support and advice on the planning and design process to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice is achieved.
- Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
- Undertake reviews of the contract documents, analyse offers, programming pre-construction, construction, and maintenance activities.
- Act as the Contract Administrator in the administration of nominated contracts (part of the contract administration verification services group).
- Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions to problems.
- Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
- In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Responsible for co-ordinating, assigning and directing the inspectorial services (part of the contract administration verification services group) within the district.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position; however, applications will also be considered if evidence is provided that an assessment for RPEQ has commenced.
- Current holder of a Class C driver licence.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia
- Pre-employment check of serious discipline history for the recommended candidate(s) as a condition of employment.
