About Tully State High School

Tully State High School is situated in the town of Tully which is situated in Far North Queensland. Tully is a scenic 2-hour drive to the south of Cairns, probably best known for its 7.9m tall Golden Gumboot! The heartland of Australian bananas, Tully is also a major processor of sugar cane and is considered to be one of the greenest and wettest towns in Australia. The area has an increasing tourism sector with the beautiful Tully River being one of the best white-water rafting sites in Australia while offshore lies the World Heritage Protected Great Barrier Reef.

The school lies on Gulngay country with a total student population of around 750 students. The school is the only secondary school in the district. The school is proud of its relationship with the Ulysses Cluster which comprises several primary schools from Cardwell to El Arish. The school is growing slowly in number mainly due an increasing population growth in the beachside areas.
