About the role
The Psychologist (Senior) position provides high-level clinical and forensic psychology services to consumers of the High Secure Inpatient Service (HSIS), Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU), and Extended Forensic Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit (EFTRU), as a member of the Psychology Team.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- high-level clinical knowledge and expertise relevant to the delivery of evidence-based clinical psychology services to patients at The Park Centre for Mental Health. Domains of assessment include cognitive / neuropsychological, emotional, behavioural, personality, psychopathology, and offending / risk, involving the application of standardised psychology tools as well as high level clinical judgement. Implementation and evaluation of psychological therapies and interventions for adult forensic mental health inpatients, based on solid psychological assessment and formulation.
- strong interpersonal and communication skills in providing patients with a high standard of care.
- ability to provide a high standard of effective verbal and written communication in multidisciplinary teams. Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation of assessments and interventions, including chart entries, database entries, and psychology reports.
- Proactively develops and demonstrates commitment to learning and skill diversification. Actively contributes to a learning environment through clinical supervision, mentoring, and skill sharing. Identifies opportunities for quality improvement and research, and actively contributes to same.
- honesty, integrity, and respect for all patients, carers, and staff. Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within relevant professional and ethical guidelines.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- General registration or eligibility for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is mandatory.
