About us:
Cancer Care Services across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care including inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and outreach services focused on compassionate, patient-centered treatment and support for patients and families throughout Central Queensland and occasionally Central West Queensland, utilising a hub-and-spoke model aligned with the Queensland Department of Health Clinical Services Capability Framework, and integrating services such as Day Therapy, systemic anti-cancer treatments, specialist clinics, regional allied health, cancer care coordination, satellite pharmacy, and MDT collaboration to deliver best-practice, person-oriented care that respects patient dignity and addresses symptom management, with services extended through regional hubs, specialist palliative care, and telehealth to ensure accessible, holistic cancer care close to patients' homes.
About the role:
In alignment with the values of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (MCCN) plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive care, information, and support for people with cancer across the region, facilitating communication within multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care. The MCCN offers expert knowledge on the spectrum of cancer care including health assessments, treatment pathways, and referrals and serves as a point of contact for patients and healthcare professionals to provide timely education and resources. Covering all cancer diagnoses except prostate and breast cancers, the nurse advocates for patients' treatment options, including access to clinical trials and specialised services, participates in developing referral pathways, and acts as a link between local nursing staff and broader national and international cancer care networks.
About you:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- Oncology Nursing Qualification/Experience or commitment to completing qualification in a relevant post graduate qualification would be considered highly desirable.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
