An exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Moreton Health Food Service Project team for a new CA4 Senior Nutrition Assistant. This role will support the implementation of a new Electronic Patient Menu Management System and a new model of foodservice delivery (hybrid room service) in our new Ripley Sub-acute hospital opening late this year.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide professional and operational management, clinical practice supervision and leadership for a team of Nutrition Assistants. The position delivers clinical delegated tasks associated with the accurate recording of patient's meal orders and the production of necessary reports through utilisation of the Electronic Patient Menu Management System (ePMMS) to ensure a quality meal service which meets the necessary dietary requirements within Qld Health guidelines. The position also contributes to the coordination of quality and safety activities that support the provision of Nutrition and of Food Services.

This role will work Mon-Fri initially with a HP5 and HP4 Foodservice dietitians and a OO6 Food Service Co-ordinator to build and implement an electronic patient menu management system, as well as develop and implement duty statements, master rosters and develop procedures and training for the Nutrition Assistant team. The successful candidate will require excellent communication and negotiation skills, hold a Cert IV in Allied Health - Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent and a good understanding and experience in foodservice systems. While it is not mandatory, experience in menu management systems is desirable.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant – Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent is required for this position. Evidence of any qualifications must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of duties.
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
