About the role
The Senior Occupational Therapists operates within a multidisciplinary team to address the needs of persons experiencing a major mental illness. The Senior Occupational Therapist provides clinical leadership to lesser experienced clinicians and clinical assistants within the Occupational Therapy Team. The position is required to work in collaboration with multiple Hospital Health Services, National Disability Insurance Scheme, government and non-government agencies.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Routinely applies high-level knowledge and skills in providing clinical services and advising colleagues, management and other stakeholders.
- Develops effective professional relationships with client, colleagues and stakeholders to inform / influence clinical outcomes and/or encourage behavioural change.
- Provides clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors and relevant service managers regarding service delivery equipment, technology and the prioritisation and development of clinical services.
- Demonstrates a high-level understanding of the environment in which clinical decision are made to influence health outcomes and ensures that service initiatives are integrated into professional clinical practice, organisation work unit guidelines and service policies.
- Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation of assessments, reports, clinical notes and other information as required for the electronic medical record.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Appointment to this position requires proof of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
