The role of Executive Director, General Goods and Services requires strong commercial capabilities to lead, manage and deliver government priorities along with excellence in strategic influencing and client service delivery. The Executive Director, General Goods and Services provides strategic leadership by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including industry, peak bodies, and the nongovernment sector.

The General Goods and Services (GGS) team establish and mange whole of government supply arrangements, such as preferred supplier panels. These supply arrangements enable easy connection between suppliers and government buyers. 

By aggregating government demand and purchasing power, GGS enables agencies to achieve greater value-for-money from their procurement spend. The team provide advice, guidance, and tools so that agencies can better deliver on government priorities when purchasing general goods and services.

GGS is focused on helping Queensland and to delivering a legacy from the 2032 Olympic Games. GGS supply arrangements create opportunities for Queensland businesses and manufacturers, of all types and from all regions, to become valued suppliers to the Queensland Government.

As the Executive Director, General Goods and Services, Procurement, you will:
• Provide the necessary leadership to ensure better practice procurement processes inform the delivery of procurement outcomes for the category management of general goods and services. 
• Use relevant industry and market knowledge to identify opportunities to deliver enhanced value-for-money outcomes in the management of the government general goods and services. 
• Deliver value, savings and benefits through a program management approach to the management of general goods and services across government.

This is a temporary vacancy available for filling from 30 June 2025 to 16 December 2025.
