About the role
You will be responsible for providing specialist medical services to patients requiring rehabilitation within the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. The role involves delivering consultative services across both acute wards and the community in the following areas:
- Specialist Rehabilitation consulting services for Ripley Hospital, Ipswich Hospital, rural facilities, and external referrals beyond Ipswich Hospital
- Inpatient services in Stroke and Rehabilitation at Ripley Hospital, including shared clinical coverage across West Moreton Rehab Services during colleagues' leave
- Rehabilitation admission consultations for patients from West Moreton catchment admitted to Ipswich General Hospital, any other Queensland health facility, or any other Australia Health Facilities.
- Consultant/Registrar outpatient clinics in community-based rehabilitation settings, including the botulinum toxin clinic
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Commitment to the principles of quality in health care, including leading initiatives in quality improvement, risk management, service evaluation, research and strategic service-delivery planning.
- Extensive clinical expertise across the full spectrum of Rehabilitation Medicine, with proven ability to deliver specialist care in both inpatient and outpatient settings—managing patient assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge
- Demonstrated success in building and sustaining collaborative relationships within the Division of Medicine, other Hospital and Health Service departments, and external providers to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Proven leadership in designing, implementing and evaluating educational programs for undergraduate students, specialist trainees and other healthcare professionals
- Track record of initiating and contributing to clinical research, audits and service-evaluation projects—translating findings into practice improvements and disseminating outcomes through publications and presentation
- Applied business-management skills, including planning, budgeting and resource allocation to support efficient and sustainable service delivery
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, trust and mutual respect across multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and continuous self-improvement
- Commitment to cultural safety, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of clinical care and team leadership
Mandatory Requirements:
